Holmes is the founder and CEO of Teranos, a silicon valley startup for a small health care diagnostic device, which rocketed to a market value of 10 billion dollars at it’s peak a couple of years ago. Among her major investors was Rupert Murdoch, ($125 mil) the Koch brothers, ($100 mil) the Walton’s of Walmart ($150 mil). Her product turned out to be a complete and utter dud. This is white collar crime at its most refined as Holmes brilliantly picked the most intimidating locks and fleeced the mighty with a seductive charm performace fueled by a heady mix of idealism and pure youthful gile. This contemporary caper (think American Hustle.2) is now being produced for the the big screen and will star Jennifer Lawrence.

What a treat. Another one you just can’t write. Three fave parts [among many]:
1- Holmes, Murdoch and journalist in the same building at the same time. Latter wants to get the story out to Murdoch and he’s busy being part of the story. Thriller shit or what….
2 – Libertarian interviewer, trying to save his ass, asks it this was a market failure or success, and the journalist flat out says failure.
3 – Kissinger is part of this story too [as well as the Butina one]. Got to give this creep credit, he still gets around. Obviously not into the joys of retirement.
Sex and money played well, and the dickhead will even give you his shorts. I wonder if something like this could work on Trump? On the one hand, Playboy bunnies and porn starts can’t really nail him. On the other hand, I get the feeling that if someone like Holmes actually spoke with him, it would be like speaking to a cat. Looking for a pruning, but the noise is meaningless.
The Holmes schtick makes Butina look so 1970. What was this woman actually thinking, and what kind of learning moment might this be?
To quote another soon-to-be incarcerated character, Don T. Jr:
“I love it.”

How can we reconcile Errol Morris’s stated mission of pursuing

Whoa. Creepy. Creepy video. A twisted, even more gnomic, Harvey Weinstein. Curious to witness the stark reveal of a contemporary, art-tech inflected seduction game. They play their parts pretty straight up. Her femme fatale has something of the digerati as contemporary “Our Miss Brooks”. Smitten as he is by the alluring look he’s given her, she just gives him stuff that works him up further. Yeeks, to embellish this enthrallment as a flaw in his thinking is way too generous.
Further along following previous comment, I am starting to think that women like Holmes deserve awards, not criminal records. [cf. Anna Sorokin]. They reveal much about the current state of our routine merging of belief/truth with desire. Holmes deserves special mention for exposing in classic fashion how the male gaze and power can really let this get out of hand. The consequences are equally classic: in paying for his lust, a smart man reveals himself to be not so smart.
